Maclaren strollers are famous for their durability and manueverability.
In 1965-Owen Finlay Maclaren MBE, retired aeronautical designer and former test pilot, design the prototype "baby buggy" - an aluminum pushchair which folds like an umbrella and weighs 6lbs.
A British patent application is filed on 20 July, 1965.
Production began shortly afterwards in 1967.
Today, maclarens are sold worldwide and are very popular in urban centers such as New York where strollers really take the most abuse.
